Primary Auger Observatory (Argentina, hybrid fluorescence + 1600-tank water-Cherenkov surface array, ~3000 km^2) measurement from ~20,000 events: confirms a spectral steepening above 4x10^19 eV (spectral index 2.69 → 4.2), independently corroborating the GZK-consistent suppression HiRes reported, with much larger statistics/aperture than AGASA or HiRes. relevance_note: the highest-statistics independent confirmation of the flux suppression at the extreme end of the spectrum, central to establishing a reliable flux-vs-energy curve up to and above LHC-equivalent energy.
